So you think that this is a fairly modern way of training, right? After all it´s that new thing you´ve heard about – Sling Training, Suspension Training® or Rope Training.

Heck, some companies even claim to have invented that kind of training. Well, today is the day that I let the cat out of the bag – claiming to have invented Sling Fitness training is bogus. Sure, it is effective and sure more people should practice it. But also for sure we can not say that we invented it.

Sling Training has been around for decades and here is the proof.

What you read here is a guidebook for Sling Fitness Training. It has been published…

… in 1866 and has the mind-blowing title of “Athletic sports for boys-a repository of graceful recreations for youth”. While I will claim that we proved by now that Sling Training is suited fine for girls and old folks as well, this book hits the spot pretty well.

The last sentence on the above page. How often have I said or written this in the past with my own words “This is a difficult exercise, but perseverance will soon overcome the difficulty”. Amen!

Well, I doubt that the human brezel here will ever make it into our training regimen but how knows . Next time you take your aeroSling® for a spin, remind yourself that you are in good company and that you continuing a rather long tradition of physical activity.

At aerobis we try to bring some innovation into this, as we´ve just proven, well known concept of Sling Training. With our aeroSling® Suspended Pulley Trainers we try to give customers the best interpretation of Sling Training at an affordable price. You be the judge!

One of the most basic exercises is the squat. For this reason we present you the squat in the base version today.

Setting up your aeroSling Sling Trainer

Rope length: Full length

Grip mode: <a href="http://www.aerobis.com/en/faq/aerosling-sling-trainer-grip-variations"target="_blank"title="normal handle mode" >Dual handle mode

Starting position

Look to the anchor point

Feet hip width apart and placed parallel

Your arms are outstretched in front of you, the handles are at the height of your belly button.

Movement sequence

Bend your knee and you try to sit with your back on the floor.

Just before your back actually reach the ground you stop.

Your back should now be as close as possible to your heels.

Major muscle groups

Front of thigh (quadriceps)

(Large) Gluteal muscle

Variation

Your feet closer or wider

Slightly staggered step position

In the starting position slightly further forward to take less “help” on the aeroSling .

While sitting down, the arms are slightly bent.

One-legged squats (see aS Sling trainer – Pistol)

Important notes

The weight is shifted slightly more on your heels during the squat.

Make sure that the heels are on the ground and there also remains especially when you reach the lowest point is to.

During the squat you’re trying the aeroSling to “abuse” as little as possible.

Your power comes mainly from your glutes and your legs.

A happy new year 2012!

2012 will be a great year. One of our new year resolutions for 2012 is to support you in your training a lot more. With the very versatile aeroSling Sling trainer system you can do a whole bunch of very effective moves and exercises you probably never seen or heard about yet. And that’s what we want to present and teach to you in the coming year right here on the blog.

So many different exercises, workout plans, videos can be found on Sling Training. But not all of it is actually useful. Some things are partly perhaps even counterproductive. And that’s where you’re coming into play. Especially all the additional concepts that are specific to our products!

Certainly you have a question or two about sling training and still looking for an answer.

The solution – ask your coach!

Write your question as a comment here on this post or or on our aerobis Facebook page. No question goes unanswered and I am looking forward to your feedback!

Your coach Paul

aeroSling® XPE – the new dimension in lightweight, take anywhere “Suspended Pulley Trainers” or “Sling Trainers”. All you need is your own Bodyweight as a resistance for some challenging and rewarding workouts. Decrease your workout time and increase your results by training for more strength and better muscle coordination at the same time through the integrated pulley system.

The aeroSling® XPE is the smaller brother of the established aeroSling® ELITE and aimed specifically at Beginners as well as people upgrading from other Suspension Devices or Sling Trainers. The aeroSling® XPE is also for you if you need to travel super light or have very limited space for transport. Unlike the aeroSling® ELITE it has no grip carabiners and that let’s you fold it even smaller.

The aeroSling® XPE shares all the great quality with other aeroSling® models while saving cost by concentrating on the aeroSling-essentials. The aeroSling® XPE is easy to use as the grip height is adjusted by utilizing just one of our patent pending grip knots. It’s done in a matter of seconds and you never have to check if you adjusted both grips to the same height – the pulley system does that “automatically” for you.

The grips handles used on the aeroSling® XPE are made from textured glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) to safe weight while still being a very durable and easy to clean. These grip handles also train you lower arms at the same time because they are a little oversized and require just a little more effort to grip them tightly.

aeroSling® XPE is built as a great one-off product with everything included that you need to get serious with Suspended Pulley Training.

Get stronger, more balanced and fit – anywhere you go.

Get the new aeroSling® XPE for only 139 EUR!

Every now and then people ask us about our devices seemingly lower maxium load declaration. Even in the media we can sometimes see weird speculations on this topic. In some comparison tests you can read stuff like:

aeroSling ELITE 120kg – brand XYZ 500kg

aeroSling ELITE torture center

The big problem with this is that some people start comparing apples with oranges.

In Germany and Europe we have very strict regulations. In order to warrant 120kg each part has to hold at least 720kg (security factor 6x). Therefore, if brand XYZ claims 500kg to be their max load, their device “should” withstand at least 3.000kg before breaking.

Our max load declaration is further based on the fact that our device can endure the average life-cycle including load peaks without compromise. This has been officially tested from german authorities. In order to pass the test, the device had to withstand thousands of repetitions with 120kg. Additionally, these repititions have been performed with rotational force on the rope and pulley over the full length of the rope. That way the pulley had to work much more than it would in real life.

Ergo: We build high-quality devices and our breaking loads are much higher than the stated maximum training load. Officially tested!
